Minimum Property Standards
The City of Denison Code of Ordinances requires property owners to maintain all homes and businesses to meet Minimum Property Standards, specifically the exterior structure and exterior grounds of properties. The purpose of the ordinance is to protect the value of Denison properties while maintaining the integrity and safety of Denison neighborhoods. The ordinance is designed around typical maintenance of your home, business, or land.
Examples include painting, replacing rotted wood, maintaining a roof that does not leak or have missing shingles, and maintaining exterior grounds including fences and accessory buildings.

The City offers different assistance programs to help qualifying low to moderate income residents make repairs to ensure compliance with Minimum Property Standards.
