High Grass and Weeds
All properties are required to maintain the grass and weeds under 12 inches in height. Property owners are responsible for the areas in front and/or side of a residence or business out to the street and to the alley in the rear (when applicable).
High grass poses many problems including harboring rodents, promoting mosquito breeding, being a fire hazard and being unsightly.
If a property is not maintained, the City will have the high grass abated and a lien will be placed on that property for the cost of the work and administrative fees.
