Hotel Occupancy Tax

Every person owning, operating, managing, or controlling any hotel or collecting payment for occupancy in any hotel shall collect the Hotel Occupancy Tax from their guests for the State of Texas and the City of Denison.

Hotels & Short Term Rentals

In order to pay your HOT, you must first register with Avenu Insights at https://www.avenuinsights.com/ or 866-240-3665

Once registered, you may use the Hotel Occupancy Tax remittance form at the bottom of the page to submit your monthly HOT.

Lodging Tax Rate

Hotel/motel tax rate - 7%
Due date - 15th day of the month
