City Council
Structure & Responsibilities
The City Council consists of 7 members elected by the residents of the City of Denison. Four of the council members are elected from single member districts, places 1 through 4, and 3 are elected at large, including the mayor and places 5 and 6.
Under the council-manager form of government the Council:
- Adopts budgets
- Appoints the city manager, who executes the laws and administers the government of the city
- Determines policies
- Enacts legislation
