Location: Waterloo Lake Regional Park, 1101 Waterloo Lake Drive, Denison, TX
Registration Deadline: September 21, 2026 (to guarantee your cap; however, registrations will be accepted through the morning of the event)
Eligibility:
Any resident fifty years of age or older as of October 2, 2026, is eligible to participate. There will be separate men’s and women’s divisions for the casting contest only.
Event Schedule:
7:30 am – 8:00 am: Check-in
8:00 am: Fishing Contest Begins
9:30 am – 10:30 am: Casting Contest
11:00 am: Fishing Contest Ends
11:30 am: Lunch/Presentation of Prizes
License Requirements:
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department license requirements and fish harvest regulations (size and number) will apply.
Note: You do not need a fishing license if you were born before January 1, 1931.
Senior fishing license packages are available for those 65 years of age or older, or those born on or after January 1, 1931.
Equipment and Bait:
All participants must supply their own fishing equipment and bait (artificial lures or live bait are allowed). Worms will be available for purchase on-site.

- Casting Contest (separate divisions for men and women)
Prizes will be awarded in both the Men’s and Women’s Divisions. For a complete list of rules, visit the registration desk or pick up a copy prior to the Festival at the Sherman Senior Center.
Seating:
Seating by the water is limited, so please bring a lawn chair or stool for your comfort while fishing. Lunch will be served under the pavilion, where there are plenty of picnic tables with benches for seating.
Restrictions:
Fishing will be allowed from the bank and piers only. Current legal length and bag limits apply.
