Why It Matters:

  • Drowning is one of the top five causes of death for children ages 1–14 in many parts of the world.

  • Formal swim lessons can reduce drowning risk by up to 88% in children ages 1–4.

  • Drowning can happen silently and in under a minute — it doesn’t look like it does on TV.

  • Swimming isn’t just a summer activity — it’s a lifesaving skill.
