Responsibilities
The Parks and Recreation Commission shall have power and be required to:
- Act in an advisory capacity in all matters pertaining to public parks and recreation
- Assist in the planning of parks and recreation programs
- Consider the annual budget of the Parks and Recreation Department and make recommendations to the city manager and City Council
- Promote and stimulate public interest
- Solicit to the fullest possible extent the cooperation of the school authorities and other public and private agencies
