The City of Denison's solid waste management residential collection policy permits "carry-out" service at the normal residential rate for residents who are either temporarily or permanently disabled and unable to bring their trash cart to the curb for pickup. In order to be eligible for this service the following criteria must be met:
- The households or employed at the resident are not capable of transferring the trash cart to the curb.
- A physician or optometrist must certify that the resident's disability is of a nature that prevents the resident from transferring the trash carts to the curb.
- The Courtesy Carry Out Application (DOCX) (application must be resubmitted annually by January 1st for the upcoming year. Failure to do so will result in discontinuance of residential courtesy carry-out service.
The following steps should be taken when completing the Courtesy Carry Out Application (DOCX):
- Please complete the section titled "Applicant's Verification of Disability and Household Occupancy".
- Forward the entire form to your physician.
- The physician should ensure that the section titled "Disability Statement" is completed in its entirety and signed by a physician.
