Water Rates

The City of Denison will institute an increase in our water and sewer rates, effective December 1st, 2022.  This increase is necessary to support Denison’s growing infrastructure needs.  We appreciate your support in helping us grow alongside you. For more information, please view our ordinance below.

Water Rates (Inside City Limits):

Residential: minimum monthly charge for the first 1000 gallons of water consumption is: $31.49 for 1” meter and below, $41.57 for 1 ½” meter, $55.43 for 2” meter, $157.46 for 3” meter and $195.26 for 4” meter.

There is a per 1000-gallon tiered rate for water consumption over the first 1000 gallons: 1000 – 5000: $3.7198, 5001-10000: $4.6497, 10001 – up: $5.8121.

Commercial: minimum monthly charge for the first 1000 gallons of water consumption is: $58.32 for 1” meter and below, $76.98 for 1 ½” meter, $102.64 for 2” meter, $291.60 for 3” meter and $361.58 for 4” meter. There is a per 1000-gallon tiered rate for water consumption over the first 1000 gallons: 1000 – 25000: $4.9214, 25001-50000: $6.1517, 50001 – up: $7.6897.

Industrial: minimum monthly charge for the first 1000 gallons of water consumption is: $99.14 for 1” meter and below, $130.87 for 1 ½” meter, $174.49 for 2” meter, $495.72 for 3” meter and $614.69 for 4” meter. There is a per 1000-gallon tiered rate for water consumption over the first 1000 gallons: 1001 – 3750000: $4.3605, 3750001 - 7500000: $4.1796, 7500001 – up: $3.9987.

Water Rates (Outside City Limits):

Residential: minimum monthly charge for the first 1000 gallons of water consumption is: $56 for 1” meter and below, $62.36 for 1 ½” meter, $83.15 for 2” meter, $236.19 for 3” meter and $292.89 for 4” meter. There is a per 1000-gallon tiered rate for water consumption over the first 1000 gallons: 1000 – 5000: $6.5376, 5001-10000: $6.9746, 10001 – up: $8.7182.

Commercial: minimum monthly charge for the first 1000 gallons of water consumption is: $100 for 1” meter and below, $115.47 for 1 ½” meter, $153.96 for 2” meter, $437.40 for 3” meter and $542.37 for 4” meter. There is a per 1000-gallon tiered rate for water consumption over the first 1000 gallons: 1000 – 25000: $8.4386, 25001-50000: $9.2276, 50001 – up: $11.5346.

Industrial: minimum monthly charge for the first 1000 gallons of water consumption is: $170 for 1” meter and below, $196.31 for 1 ½” meter, $261.74 for 2” meter, $743.58 for 3” meter and $922.04 for 4” meter. There is a per 1000-gallon tiered rate for water consumption over the first 1000 gallons: 1001 – 3750000: $7.4768, 3750001 - 7500000: $7.1666, 7500001 – up: $6.8564.

Sewer Rates (Inside City Limits): Residential minimum monthly charge for the first 1000 gallons of water consumption is: $33.06 for 1” meter and below, $43.64 for 1 ½” meter, $58.19 for 2” meter, $165.31 for 3” meter and $204.99 for 4” meter. There is a per 1000-gallon rate of $3.4925 for consumption used over the first 1000 gallons per unit. Customers with active service for January, February and March are given an average sewer rate based on their consumption from January through March. Sewer Rates (Outside City Limits): Residential minimum monthly charge for the first 1000 gallons of water consumption is: $52.00 for 1” meter and below, $65.46 for 1 ½” meter, $87.29 for 2” meter, $247.97 for 3” meter and $307.49 for 4” meter. There is a per 1000-gallon rate of $5.4136 for consumption used over the first 1000 gallons per unit. Customers with active service for January, February and March are given an average sewer rate based on their consumption from January through March.
