DavidDavid DeGrand

Hey there! I am a cartoonist from Texas that enjoys drawing pictures that make people laugh or barf (preferably both). I used to draw comics for my high school and college newspapers but since then have written and drawn for MAD Magazine, SpongeBob Comics, The Simpsons, Garfield, and Uncle Grandpa among others. I have also illustrated numerous childrens books and designed the animated series Death Hacks. I illustrated the graphic novel Snot Goblins and Other Tasteless Tales for First Second Books. My latest graphic novel, I Am Not Okay, is out now from Union Square Kids!

Eliamaria

Eliamaría Madrid

Eliamaría Madrid is a cartoonist and illustrator based in Texas. Elia got her start with her now-retired webcomic, Elia in a Box, and has loved illustrating and cartooning ever since. She loves sharing her creative adventures while streaming her creative process online and helping grow the creative community.

6.  Costumes may not contain any actual weapons or anything that could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.

Authors

Lyndsey

Lyndsey Lewellen

Lyndsey Lewellen is the Christy Award-winning author of The Chaos Grid duology and the Harlow Morgan series. Growing up on a healthy dose of comic books, punk music, and sci-fi, she infuses all three loves into novels written for young adults. She lives on a small Texas farm with her best friend/husband, five children, and what some might call a zoo of animals (especially after meeting the peacocks).

A Lee Martinez

A Lee Martinez

A. Lee Martinez’s novels are known for combining pulp and comic book influences along with philosophy, metaphysics, and humor. He is the author of 13 novels, including Gil’s All Fright Diner, The Automatic Detective, Monster, and the Constance Verity trilogy. His novel Monster was adapted into the Chinese language film Monster Run. He likes writing very much and getting paid for it, so he’s got that going for him. He lives outside Dallas, Texas, with his wife and the minimum number of pets required as a writer.

David Nos

David Nos

I am a printer by trade and a musician by degree. I have always loved to write. Most of the songs and lyrics I have written are musical stories. In 1987 I tested my prose writing skills in a local writing contest and won. After I wrote Kordan, my songwriting partner Bob Agner and I decided to add music.  And today, we have the first Fantasy/Music hybrid.   Original music is spread throughout the story, accessed via QR codes. This unique offering is Kordan the Wizard. In our second release in the Kordan series The Final War of Wizards and Dragons, we have continued with the original music and now have added stunning graphics also accessed using QR codes. (Kordan the Wizard is the prequel to the trilogy. The Final War of Wizards and Dragons is Book 1.  I am currently writing book 2 In Pursuit of The Return to Magic, hopefully to be released mid-summer 2026) The Final War of Wizards and Dragons is currently a finalist in the Chanticleer International Book Awards  OZMA Fantasy Award.
