1. You may dress as any literary, anime, or fandom character. Characters from self-published or about to be published books are also welcome.
2. When choosing winners, preference will be given to costumes that are self-made, but thrifted, purchased, and closet costumes are welcome.
3. Participants must be prepared to speak briefly about their costume or character. Participants under 9 or neurodivergent may have help from a friend or guardian if needed.
4. Since this is a family friendly event, all costumes must be appropriate for young eyes.
5. Bare feet and clothing that does not cover both upper and lower torso are prohibited
6. Costumes may not contain any actual weapons or anything that could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.
7. No culturally insensitive costumes. No religiously offensive costumes.
8. Costumes should not interfere with movement or (most importantly) safety.
If you are not sure whether your costume meets these guidelines, please message the library on Facebook to clarify.
