Cemetery Fence Improvement Project

Magnolia and Fairview Cemetery Fence Improvement Project

The Magnolia & Fairview Cemetery Fence Improvement Project was an important initiative focused on enhancing security, protection, and the overall appearance of the cemetery grounds. Made possible through the generous support of the community, the project was fully funded through private donations.

This effort reflected the community’s strong commitment to honoring and protecting our shared spaces, and we were deeply grateful for the contributions that made it possible. Work progressed as planned, and the completed improvements now serve as a lasting testament to the community’s dedication and care.

Fence Installation and Adjustments

  • Fence:  Modifications to the originally surveyed fence lines were made to address conflicts with electrical poles. The fence line was offset just south of the central entrance to align with both the center and main entrances.
  • Gate:  The initial design called for a swinging gate at the main entrance, but after further consultation with the contractor, a sliding gate was selected instead. This option was less prone to damage and required less preventative and annual maintenance, reducing future financial concerns.
  • Installation Progress:
    • Fairview:  The 6-foot iron fence was fabricated offsite and reached 99% completion, with installation approximately 75% complete. The masonry and cast-stone sign were completed on October 13, 2025. The columns were fully set, and new concrete footing was installed at the main entrance for the sliding security gate.
    • Security Camera installation:  Contractors worked with the City’s IT team to install a security camera at the main gate. Some components were scheduled for finalization after fence installation was complete.
    • Magnolia:  The fence was fully completed with the exception of the gate installation. The remaining cast-stone sign was completed on October 13, 2025.

Below are photos from the ribbon-cutting dedication ceremony, where community members, partners, and city leaders came together to celebrate the completion of these important improvements.
