Camera Registry Program

Partnering with the Community for a Safer Denison

The Denison Police Department’s Community Camera Program is a collaborative initiative that encourages residents and businesses to register their privately owned security cameras with the department. By voluntarily sharing your camera’s location, you can play an essential role in solving crimes and enhancing public safety.

Registering your cameras does not allow the Denison Police Department access to your live video stream - it only enables investigators to know a camera is present at your location and easily request video evidence should an incident occur.

How It Works:

  1. Register Your Camera
    • Use our simple online form to register your security camera(s).
    • Provide basic information, such as your name, address, and contact details, along with the location of your camera(s).
  2. Your Privacy Matters
    • Registration does not give the police direct access to your camera feed.
    • Your camera will only be accessed if a crime occurs in your area, and you are contacted to request video footage.
  3. When Needed, We’ll Reach Out
    • In the event of a crime nearby, detectives may contact you to request footage from your camera that could help with investigations.

Who Can Register?

Anyone with external-facing security cameras in Denison—whether you’re a homeowner, renter, or business owner—can participate in the program.

How do I register?

Register by providing contact information and the location of surveillance cameras. There is not a fee and registration is voluntary. This should only take approximately one minute through our online application process.

Step One: Provide Your Contact Information

Enter your first and last name, email, and phone number. You must enter all contact fields.

Step Two: Provide the Location of the Camera

Enter the address, city, state, zip, and name of the location of the camera. Specifically, if it is a residential or business address and how many internal and external cameras there are.

Step Three: Submit

Once you have successfully registered, we will send you a confirmation email. You can opt-out at any time.

If a criminal event occurs nearby and your camera system might have captured information or evidence that could be useful in an investigation, an investigator may request a copy of your surveillance.
