Denison residents can pick up a free gun safety lock from the Denison Police Department between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm.
The department urges families to help protect their loved ones and prevent unauthorized people from accessing a firearm kept at home. Along with firearm safety courses, the best prevention is the use of a gun safety lock.
"Our community can help us protect their families in one easy step," said Chief Gudgel. "These gun safety locks are free and are proven to help prevent tragedies."
