Driveway Approach Permit
- The City of Denison is the permitting authority for all driveway approaches within the City Limits.
- A Driveway Approach Permit is required for all new approaches.
- The following items are required as part of the driveway approach permit: description of project, traffic control plan, site plan, scope of work, and proof of current insurance.
- Driveway Approach Permits are $50 per approach.

Right of Way Permit
- A Right-of-Way, or ROW, Permit is required for work taking place within public ROW. This includes franchise utility work.
- The following items are required as part of the ROW permit: description of project, traffic control plan, site plan, scope of work, and proof of current insurance.
- Right-of-Way Permits are $100 per network node, $100 per network support pole, $100 per transfer facility, and $250 for an expedited permit (submitted within 2 weeks of proposed work).
Lane Closure Permit
- A Lane Closure Permit is required for any project requiring the closure of one or more lanes of traffic. This includes franchise utility work.
- The following items are required as part of the Lane Closure permit: description of project, traffic control plan, site plan, scope of work, and proof of current insurance.
- Lane Closure Permits are $50 for general permit or $250 for expedited general permit (submitted within 2 weeks of proposed closure). $100 for an extension. If work is started before a permit is issued, the fee doubles.
Pavement Cut Permit
- A Pavement Cut Permit is required for any project cutting pavement, within public Right-of-Way, including road and sidewalk surface, curb, and public parking surface. This includes franchise utility work.
- The following items are required as part of the driveway approach permit: description of project, traffic control plan, site plan, scope of work, and proof of current insurance.
- Pavement Cut Permits are $50 for general permit or $250 for expedited general permit (submitted within 2 weeks of proposed closure). $100 for an extension and Public Inconvenience penalties may be assessed for incomplete/unaccepted work. If work is started before a permit is issued, the fee doubles.
Drainage Plan Review Step - New Build and Remodel Permits
- Drainage plans need to include the following:
- directional arrows indicating intended flow of water,
- proposed structures within the flow path of runoff (fences, etc.),
- grade elevations including at the street, corners of the structure, and rear of the property, and
- slab/finished floor elevation.
- Modifications to the flood plain will require a CLOMR. In some cases, a Flood Study showing no adverse effects from proposed modifications can be accepted in lieu of a CLOMR.
