Amnesty Program: February 2023

October 2022 Amnesty Program

City of Denison Kicks Off Biannual Amnesty Program

Starting Monday, February 13th running through Friday, March 3rd the City of Denison’s Municipal Court will host its biannual amnesty program.

The amnesty program provided by the municipal court serves two purposes. It helps those with outstanding warrants reduce their fees in an effort to help resolve their outstanding matters with the court, and it gives back to the community at the same time by providing some help to a local food bank.

Any violator with an arrest warrant and corresponding fine may bring ten cans of food to City Hall for a fifty-dollar reduction in the fine owed or may bring twenty cans of food for a one-hundred-dollar reduction in the fine owed.

Donations may only be made during normal city business hours at the Municipal Court window located on the 1st floor of City Hall, 300 W. Main St.

The non-perishable goods will be donated to St. Luke’s Pantry help those in need.

During the last program held in October of 2022, 128 warrants were cleared, and 625 non-perishable items were donated to the pantry.

If you have any questions, please contact the Municipal Court at (903) 465-2720, Ext. 5004.
