THE ORDINANCE SECTION 18-113.  DAMAGING, REMOVING, ETC., PARK PROPERTY WHICH STATES/  (CODE 1965, 17-3)   It shall be unlawful for any person to cut, pull, break, bruise, remove or in any manner injure any tree, shrub or vegetation of any kind growing in any city park or to injure, deface or in any way frame, fence, gate or structure of any kind therein or thereon or connected therewith.  This section shall not apply to anything done by the lawful employees of the city in the lawful performance of their duties, or under their authority or direction.   The Parks & Recreation Commission have adopted a permit application for resident wishing to make improvements to city parks including Waterloo Lake Regional Park.  The application must be approved by the Parks & Recreation Commission prior to any improvements.  The permit application is available at the Parks & Recreation Department @ 531 West Chestnut, Denison, Texas.  Please feel free to contact the Parks & Recreation Department @ 903-463-5116

Waterloo Lake Regional Park: Large, multi-purpose park on 148 acres includes Waterloo Baseball Park, Waterloo Pool, and Culpepper Softball      Complex, 52 surface acre lake, newly developed fishing pond, large pavilion with tables, horseshoe pits, ¾ of a mile paved walking track, nature trail around lake, multiple playground units, tables, and benches.

 

Munson Park: Large multi-purpose park with large covered pavilion available for rentals with a $60 refundable deposit and rental fees of $30 for ½ day(4 hours or less) and $60 for entire day (more than 4 hours), 2 baseball fields, 1 softball field, 1 pavilion with 8 picnic tables, electricity, water, lights, restrooms, and playground unit, 2 pavilions with concrete tables, 6 concrete tables, 1 grill, restroom/concession facility, drinking fountains, parking lots, and playground equipment on 120.65 acres. Reservations available. Located at 1200 Hwy 75 North.

 

T-Bar Softball Complex: Sports Park. 3 regulation size softball fields, 1 sand volleyball court, 2 Horseshoe pits, restrooms/concession facility, 1 covered patio on 29.6 acres. Located at 205 E. US Highway 69. Field reservations.

 

Raynal Park: Community Park with 2 soccer/football fields (lighted and fenced), 1 basketball court, bleachers, 4 picnic tables and playground equipment on 10.271 acres. Located at 526 E. Maple Row.

 

Forest Park: Community Park. 2 Lighted tennis courts, Skate park with bleachers, 1 park bleacher, 6 park benches, 2 picnic tables (wheelchair accessible), gazebo, playground equipment with restroom facilities. Reservations available. Located on 6 acres at 300 W. Crawford St.

 

Ray Park: Neighborhood Park with 1 picnic table, 2 park benches, 1 lighted softball/baseball practice field, 1 basketball goal and playground equipment on 4 acres. Located at 700 N. Ray Dr.

 

Jones Park: Neighborhood Park. 1 pavilion with 1 picnic table, 6 park benches, 1 basketball court (1 of 2 goals wheelchair accessible), 1 softball practice field, and playground equipment on 3 acres. Located at 1200 W. Shepherd St.

 

George Hopkins Park: Neighborhood Park. 3 picnic tables on 1.4 acres with playground equipment, night lights. Located at 200 E. Murray.

 

Martin Luther King Park: Neighborhood Park. Playground area with basketball/tennis court, playground equipment, sand pit, 2 picnic tables and 2 benches. Located at 800 W. Martin Luther King Blvd. .7 acres.

 

Mini Park: Pocket Park. Playground area with playground equipment , night lights, Located at 500 W. Morton St.
