Fishing Derby

Youth Trout Derby (held in February)

•This event is for boys and girls ages 16 and under.  We stock our pond with more than 1,700 rainbow trout for the event.  Cost to participate is $5 for resident youth and $7 for non-resident youth.  Lunch is provided at the end of the derby.  Contests for largest & smallest trout, heaviest stringer of trout. There is also a casting contest.

Annual Family Fellowship Trout Derby – Waterloo Park

•Bring the whole family out for our annual family fellowship trout derby. Residents cost is $7 for adults/$5 for youth. Nonresidents are $10 for adults/$7 for youth.
•In addition to prizes and awards, there will be food and drink available too.
•Open to all ages.

Annual Howard Caylor Trout Derby – Waterloo Park

•Open to men and women ages 17 and older. Cost is $7 for residents/ $10 for non-residents.

Catfish Rodeo (June)

Contest is open to all ages! Age groups will be 16 & under and 17 & older. Fishing will be from 9:00 am to 11:30 am. The first 50 paid participants will receive a free cap!

Awards for Biggest, Smallest, and Heaviest stringer of (5) Catfish in each age division. There will also be prizes for the first (5) tagged catfish caught during the derby.

Senior Fishing Festival (September)

Tri-County Senior Fishing Festival at Waterloo Lake Park in Denison, Texas.  Begins at 8:00 am. Those registering before the early bird cut-off will receive a t-shirt.  Entry fee includes hot dog lunch.  Any resident of Cooke, Fannin, or Grayson Counties who are fifty years of age or older as of the date of the event are eligible to participate.  Prizes awarded for fishing and casting contests.
