PARIS – Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that contractor Ragle Construction Inc. will begin work Oct. 17 to reverse the on- and off-ramps for northbound traffic on US 75 at Crawford Street in Grayson County.
The contractor will reverse the location of the on- and off-ramps to improve traffic safety, improve the timing of signal lights, and provide better access for traffic exiting US 75 at this location. The contractor will also install a new U-turn bridge at the intersection of FM 120 and US 75, for northbound traffic wanting to drive southbound, officials said.
TxDOT officials granted the contractor nine months, weather permitting, to complete this project at an estimated cost of more than $4.6 million. The contractor will complete work on the exit ramp first, then complete work on the on ramp. The project should be completed in June 2017.
The contractor’s crews will work from 7 a.m. until dusk, Monday through Friday, while this project is underway. As a result, access to some businesses may be temporarily affected as machinery passes driveways, but access will be restored as soon as possible.
Motorists should consider using alternate routes while this construction is underway. Those who must travel in this area are asked to pay special attention to all signs, barricades and traffic controls, and reduce their speed as they approach work zones. They should also be prepared for rough pavement condition and brief traffic delays, and avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
