Patrol Division

Overview:
The Patrol Division of the Denison Police Department is comprised of 4 separate shifts that are responsible for conducting patrol functions throughout the City of Denison on a 24 hour basis.

Patrol Division Leadership Structure:
  • Chief of Police
  • Assistant Chief of Police
  • 2 Patrol Lieutenants
  • 4 Patrol Sergeants
  • Patrol Officers
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Patrol Division of the Denison Police Department is charged with conducting patrols of the City of Denison to protect the lives and property of the citizens of the City. The Patrol Division accomplishes this mission by dividing the city into 5 zones and conducting the following tasks:
  • Traffic Control and Enforcement
  • First Response to calls for service
  • Criminal Investigations
  • Building and Neighborhood Security Checks
  • Community Policing Efforts
Equipment:
In and effort to promote professionalism and efficiency in the Patrol Division, the Denison Police Department makes every effort to equip each patrol officer with state of the art equipment and an appropriate professional knowledge base. All Patrol Officers have the following equipment at their disposal:
  • Dodge Charger and Chevy Tahoe Patrol Vehicles
  • X26 Taser
  • Mobile Data Terminal
  • Handheld Radio
  • Semi-Automatic Pistol
  • Semi-Automatic Rifle
  • Electronic Ticket Writer
