Fences that go past the front of a home/business are restricted to a max height of 4 feet and must be 50% open. In order to obtain a permit you must submit a permit application and a site plan indicating the location of the fence with dimensions from property lines and other structures. The permit fee for a fence is $50.

A fence permit can be issued to a homeowner who is homesteading residential property. We will confirm the homestead exemption via the Grayson County Appraisal District website. All other fence permits can only be issued to registered general contractors. A contractor registration form can be found here.
