The City of Denison provides medical insurance for all permanent full-time employees. The current provider is the Texas Municipal League Intergovernmental Employee Benefits Pool. The City pays $458 per month towards the cost of each employee's plan. Employees have the choice of 2 medical plans including an HSA plan and a PPO plan. The City also contributes to an Health Reimbursement Account for employees and dependents to help defray deductible costs. Medical Insurance coverage begins on the 1st of the month 60 days following the date of hire.
Early retirees will pay 190% of the insurance premiums for themselves and their dependents. In addition, there are pre-65 and post-65 plans available.
Dental and Vision is also available to purchase for employees and their dependents.
